The EnFloTech negative pressure Raymond Deep Bowl mill exhauster fan was designed to be durable in harsh operating environments. The function of the exhauster fan is to supply the pressure that is required to transport the pulverized coal air mixture to the boiler. Exposure to the abrasive pulverized coal being transported at high velocity can lead to significant wear to exhauster fan components.
The EnFloTech design now gives improved air flow, reduced power usage and doubles the life cycle when compared to the original fan. Modifications include changes to the fan impellor curvature and nose piece.
High wear regions on the fan are protected by grade WRST, a Sintered Tungsten Carbide overlay, which was applied by Wear Resistance Ltd (http://www.wearresistance.com/). The overlay is applied by the HD process invented by Wear Resistance Ltd. The “HD” (high density) grades contain a greater proportion of hard metal carbides than any other known weld-applied overlay in industry.
Heat input to the base material is relatively low, and therefore has less effect on the properties of the material to which it is applied. Integral bolts are overlaid in the same operation as the rest of the component and can only be safely used with the HD process because of its relatively low heat input.
