Lutinsi Engineering completes over 140 Lopulco LM 14 3 Mill Trunnion Roller assembly refurbishments

Lutinsi Engineering to date has completed over 140 Lopulco LM 14 3 Mill Trunnion Roller assembly refurbishments and have manufactured complete new units as well.

We do the full refurbishments of Trunnion Roller Assemblies in house. When it comes to the Mill Trunnion Roller assemblies, we can do everything from machining all new SG 60 and BS 3100 A1 castings to manufacturing and machining of new Roller and Trunnion shafts.

At Lutinsi Engineering we use specialized welding processes and consumables for repairing old SG 40 castings on the assembly. In order to reduce the amount of jet wear resulting from the milling operation, specialized wear liners are installed. Our highly skilled fitters are responsible for installing bearings in the Roller and Trunnion assemblies. We utilize an induction heater to heat bearings and to limit direct heat or over heating of the bearing metal.

Lutinsi Engineering only uses the highest quality bearings to ensure the expected life span is reached. Our completed units undergo strict quality checks which includes checking everything from oil levels, fits and clearances to checking that every bolt has been fitted according to the requirement. At Lutinsi Engineering we pride ourselves in delivering a quality service and meeting the expectations set by our clients.

We specialize in the refurbishment and fabrication of industrial and mechanical components for the power generation and mining industries. Contact us for all your machining and fabrication requirements.

EnFloTech high-performance rotating throat range

EnFloTech’s patented range Version 1 to Version 6 high-performance rotating throat designs include top to bottom designs and side by side designs (gearbox removal possible with throat and ledge cover in situ). Our latest throat designs are compatible with sub-optimal metrology (Oval mills) with tight tolerances.

The EnFloTech high-performance rotating throat range reduces unwanted rejecting, lowers peak velocities, lowers mill dP and guarantees at least a 10% increase in mill throughput. Another major advantage is the alleviation of wear to mill components which include the mill casings, ledge covers, dam rings, loading frames/spyders, wear cowls, roller assemblies and adjustable vanes. The below images indicate wear alleviation on milling components with the EnFloTech Version 5 rotating throat.

With coal qualities deteriorating, these high-performance components are required for an economical solution to ensure boiler output can still be achieved without having to invest in new mills and primary air fans. These components will ensure that the milling plant operates reliably within acceptable control ranges and with reserve margins.

Please feel free to contact us and we will assist you in finding the best throat design to suit your milling requirements and performance goals.

EnFloTech negative pressure Raymond Deep Bowl mill exhauster fan

The EnFloTech negative pressure Raymond Deep Bowl mill exhauster fan was designed to be durable in harsh operating environments. The function of the exhauster fan is to supply the pressure that is required to transport the pulverized coal air mixture to the boiler. Exposure to the abrasive pulverized coal being transported at high velocity can lead to significant wear to exhauster fan components.

The EnFloTech design now gives improved air flow, reduced power usage and doubles the life cycle when compared to the original fan. Modifications include changes to the fan impellor curvature and nose piece.

High wear regions on the fan are protected by grade WRST, a Sintered Tungsten Carbide overlay, which was applied by Wear Resistance Ltd (http://www.wearresistance.com/). The overlay is applied by the HD process invented by Wear Resistance Ltd. The “HD” (high density) grades contain a greater proportion of hard metal carbides than any other known weld-applied overlay in industry.

Heat input to the base material is relatively low, and therefore has less effect on the properties of the material to which it is applied. Integral bolts are overlaid in the same operation as the rest of the component and can only be safely used with the HD process because of its relatively low heat input.

CMP proudly announces company name change to EnFloTech (Energy Flow Technologies)

Coal Milling Projects was registered in 1977 by former Eskom Engineers Andy Robinson and Kotie Steyn to represent Southwestern USA and service Eskom Power Stations. The focus was on Milling Plants, supplying Throats and Classifiers to Eskom stations. In 2010 CMP moved into material handling systems and mill maintenance and refurbishment contracts at Eskom sites.

Now, the CMP group of companies is involved in numerous activities in the energy market with maintenance contracting, fabrication facilities, machining facilities, design facilities and biogas production plant installations. Energy Flow Technologies (EnFloTech) is the new CMP as the company focus is substantially larger than the mill business of the early 2000’s.

EnFloTech is a high-end technology company specializing in the Energy market with expertise across a wide range of technologies, geared toward energy efficiency, with a growing presence in countries around the world. EnFloTech will continue trading as CMP for all Eskom related business, as the brand is well established with no change in commercial requirements.

May EnFloTech build on the excellence of the existing CMP brand.

Matla new V4-V5 rotating throat design

CMP is continuously working on improving our designs to meet and exceed customer requirements. When modifying designs, we focus on improving the customer’s installation, maintenance and operational experience. A perfect example hereof is the modified CMP V4/V5 rotating port ring design for Babcock E type mills.

The new CMP V4/V5 rotating port ring design was numerically analysed and the particle behaviour, wear patterns and flow conditions studied using CFD. The new CMP V4/V5 rotating port ring design reduces maintenance and improves mill performance. The design enables the replacement of the gearbox without removing any of the port ring static components.

This enhances time efficiency and reduces the mill down time. The design alleviates wear to the mill spider and casing and can help reduce top ring wear, extending the operational life cycle of these components. Furthermore, the design improves the PF mass distribution and PF particle size distribution between PF pipes, resulting in increased boiler efficiency.

Installing the CMP V4/V5 rotating port ring at Castle Peak Power station (Hong Kong) lead to increased coal throughput, improved PF fineness, reduction in mill motor current and a reduction in mill dP.

Arnot Ultra High-Performance Static Classifiers

CMP Aljimm is part of the CMP Group of Companies and fabricates the group’s patented technologies for the milling industry. CMP specializes in custom designed milling plant technologies to help clients achieve plant performance goals and optimize plant efficiency. We are continuously improving our technologies, paving the way for coal fired power stations to achieve clean and efficient combustion.

The Ultra High-Performance Static Classifier is a CMP Southwestern patented technology that improves the throughput to the boilers while maintaining particle fineness. Roping effects are reduced while improving the distribution of primary air, pulverized fuel mass flow and particle size distribution between the burners. Benefits include increased boiler efficiency, uniform heat distribution in the boiler and the ability to effectively stage combustion for emission control.

The Arnot Ultra High-Performance Static Classifier has been operating successfully since 2007. CMP has increased the mill throughput from 32 Metric TPH to 38.5 Metric TPH. The classifier was refurbished into the latest product revision in record time with modifications that will further alleviate wear and improve flow conditions.

CMP aims to deliver great quality products and to achieve excellent customer satisfaction.
